Midwest Valve Services, a Novaspect company, is currently offering an opportunity for a Machinist to join our fast paced, customer oriented team.
The successful candidate will have advanced machining experience and excellent mechanical skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Ability to troubleshoot and correct machining issues Program, edit and operate CNC (computer numeric control) M/G code machine tools Design and fabricate custom tooling and fixtures Ability to use 2D AutoCAD Create and edit drawings Advanced setup and operation Engine & Vertical Lathes Milling Machines Ability to machine parts to precise dimensions and finish per drawings Understanding of Basic Metallurgy Understanding of material combinations related to wear and galling Understanding of Heat Treating Ability to read and interpret shop drawings and blueprints Apply advanced math skills to Verify measurements Calculate dimensions Verify tolerances Knowledge and proper selection of Tooling Cutting speed Feed rates Performs service requests as assigned under the supervision of the Shop Manager and Lead Technicians.
Drive vehicle to and from job sites.
Maintain a clean work environment.
Follow all safety guidelines.
Education and/or Experience Valve, pump or actuator experience preferred.
Welding ability is a plus.
Additional Requirements Must have mechanical aptitude.
Good verbal & written communication skills Must be able to take direction, use initiative and follow through to completion.
Must be willing to work on site at customer facilities.
Must have a valid drivers license and the ability to be insured on company insurance.
Must be willing to learn and improve skill level for future advancement.
Overnight travel required.
